“I am so proud of my beloved daughter-in-law.” King Charles III gave his support to Kate Middleton in a statement released Friday March 22, 2024 by Buckingham Palace, reports the Associated Press news agency. Comments which follow the announcement of the Princess of Wales’ cancer, after months of absence from the public scene. The father of Prince Harry and Prince William greeted the “courage of Catherine” in this test. The 75-year-old monarch, who is also battling cancer, said he was “in close contact with his beloved daughter-in-law”. And if Charles III has spoken publicly, he should very soon address his people again. Indeed, he will be at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle for Easter Mass and will give a speech on the occasion – his most important engagement since the start of his treatment. The British newspaper The Evening Standard writes in its edition of Tuesday March 26, 2024 that he plans to “reassure audiences with a pre-recorded Easter message of hope and unity” which should be broadcast on Thursday March 28, 2024.

King Charles “does very well”, reassures Camilla

The Evening Standard writes that Charles III wishes “to comfort the country after the shock of the announcement of Kate and him”, according to a Buckingham Palace source. What state of mind is Camilla Parker-Bowles’ husband in? The king would be “very positive” and his doctors would be “optimists” about his treatment for cancer – the exact nature of which is unknown -, with an almost full-time return this summer, according to the Daily Telegraph. On February 5, 2024, Buckingham Palace revealed King Charles III’s cancer and explained his need to stay in London. His wife gave his news during an official visit to Belfast in Northern Ireland, Thursday March 21, 2024: “He is doing very well, but he was very disappointed not to be able to come”, she assured according to the English press. For Easter, the couple should therefore be reunited.
