Actress Katherine Heigl has apparently survived neck surgery. She gives a health update with photos from the hospital.

US actress Katherine Heigl (42, "Suits") has apparently survived an operation on the spine. With photos showing her with a neck support and bandage on her neck as well as an X-ray, she reports back to Instagram after the procedure. She had to have an operation because of a herniated disc in her neck, she tells her followers. "Two titanium disks now inhabit my neck and I can probably stand on my head for hours … I won't try it yet, but give me a few months and I'll blow your mind," she jokes in the post.

She had already reported on Friday that she had suffered a neck injury. The former "Grey's Anatomy" star had previously traveled from Utah to Los Angeles, California to seek specialist medical treatment for the injury. There she was rescued "from the most unbearable pain I have ever experienced," she says thank you.

Katherine Heigl was accompanied to L.A. by her musician husband, Josh Kelley (41). The couple, who have been married since 2007, raise their three children on a ranch in Utah. They adopted daughter Naleigh, 12, from South Korea when she was nine months old, and daughter Adalaide, 8, shortly after they were born in the United States. Their biological son Joshua was born in December 2016.
