Germany, which halted Russian oil imports via Druzhba in January, is considering changing its energy security law to allow a quick sale of Rosneft’s stake in the PCK Schwedt refinery without prior nationalization.
“The federal government has continuously supported the supply of crude oil … by PCK shareholders and will continue to do so,” a spokesman for the refinery told Reuters.
“This also applies to ongoing negotiations between the relevant oil companies and the Kazakh side about additional oil volumes from Kazakhstan, for example from Rosneft Deutschland,” the spokesperson said.
Rosneft, Kazmunaigaz, Transneft, KPO and Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry did not respond to Reuters requests for comment. The Russian Energy Ministry declined to comment.
