17 years after the success of “Constantine,” Hollywood star Keanu Reeves reprises his old role in the film’s sequel.

Keanu Reeves (58) slips back into the role of exorcist and demonologist John Constantine after 17 years. From the planned sequel to the film “Constantine” reports the industry portal “Deadline”. Warner Bros. gave the green light to the project. The director of the first film, Francis Lawrence (51), was also brought back on board. Akiva Goldsman (60) is writing the screenplay.

Lawrence made his feature film directorial debut with the horror shocker. In the meantime, the Austrian-born filmmaker has directed three parts of The Hunger Games. The 51-year-old is currently filming The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. This is a prequel to the previous four films in the Hunger Games film series.

Fans have long wanted a sequel

“Constantine” grossed around $200 million at the box office worldwide in 2005. The film, which is about heaven and hell, is based on the American comic series “Hellblazer”. At that time, Rachel Weisz (52), Shia LaBeouf (36) and Tilda Swinton (61) worked alongside Reeves. In the original, Reeve’s character fights demons to save his own soul from Hell. Nothing is known about the start of filming.
