Keira Knightley revealed in an interview that she only shoots sex scenes if a director is responsible for the film.

British actress Keira Knightley, 35, revealed on the podcast "Chanel Connects" that sex scenes have been uncomfortable since being a mother.

Keira Knightley: "I'd rather not stand naked in front of a group of men"

That is why she only wants to accept films with revealing settings if a filmmaker and not a male colleague is behind them. "It's partly vanity and partly the masculine look," explains Knightley. Her body has had two pregnancies "and I just don't want to stand naked in front of a group of men".

The actress added that while she appreciates how some sex scenes can add artistic value to a movie, "someone else" should play them. She also generally prefers female filmmakers when the topics are of a female nature, such as the journey of motherhood or the acceptance of one's own body.

Today Keira only plays characters "that I always dreamed of as a child"

Fortunately, she can choose her roles based on her career status. "Today I play characters that I always dreamed of as a child, beyond the whole blockbuster. They are interesting, complicated and often strange women."

In 2013 Keira Knightley married the musician James Righton, 37. The couple had two daughters, Edie, 5, and Delilah, 1.
