(Boursier.com) — Kerlink a specialist in solutions dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT), and Actility, a recognized global leader in low-power industrial IoT connectivity solutions, today announced a strategic partnership that capitalizes on the complementary and differentiating strengths of their technologies by offering a fully integrated LoRaWAN solution, Plug&Play and which embeds local computer processing capacity (edge computing).

As part of this partnership, Actility’s ThingPark All-in-One (TAO) platform is integrated into Kerlink’s Plug & Play and lifetime guaranteed equipment: Wirnet iFemtoCell and Wirnet iStation. This platform enables the deployment and operation of low-power wide area networks (LPWAN) within a unified, scalable and versatile infrastructure.

In addition to adding value to the Kerlink portfolio offering, this collaboration increases Actility’s ability to penetrate the markets for small private networks and to offer, where necessary and for larger networks, extensions based on its LNS cloud offering.

The joint solution includes Actility’s LNS (LoRa Network Server) and integrates payload decoders and application connectors directly into Kerlink equipment, making it easier to deploy LoRaWAN(R) networks for IoT applications. Industrial asset management is a use case in which TAO enables predictive maintenance by monitoring machines using vibration sensors.

This configuration allows potential failures to be quickly identified, significantly reducing downtime and maintenance costs. Additionally, customers can initiate a network deployment with TAO to evaluate the technology and then migrate to more scalable solutions with multiple Kerlink gateways managed by a centralized Actility LNS.
