Actor Kevin Bacon loves his animals more than anything. Therefore, he has made a decision that affects his eating habits.

Kevin Bacon (65) no longer eats “bacon”. Pork is no longer on the table for the actor, as he explains in an interview with the US magazine “People”. The amateur chef has also said goodbye to other types of meat.

The actor lives with his wife Kyra Sedgwick (58) away from the Hollywood hustle and bustle on a farm in Connecticut – with lots of animals. These include alpacas, pigs, goats and horses. “I no longer eat goat meat and I no longer eat pork because I have goats and pigs myself,” the 65-year-old explains his reasons. “I love animals, it’s a joy to be with them.”

The actor loves cooking and eating

Of course, there are no empty plates for the “Footloose” star. Bacon discovered his love of cooking as a young actor. “I took everything I had and put it in a pan to fry.” He now grows a large part of his ingredients himself: “We love going into the garden and getting fresh herbs or tomatoes or basil or peppers or zucchini.” The amateur chef rarely sticks to recipes; instead, he just lets them inspire him and adapts them to his own taste.

As a rule, he rarely visits restaurants at all: “I feel like when you eat out or order take-out, you’re giving your power away to the people who prepare the food for you.” On the other hand, he wants to remain in control and know exactly what he is putting into his body.

Bacon and Sedgwick don’t quite agree on nutrition

And what does his wife think of Bacon’s new eating habits? “My wife says, ‘We can’t get any more animals because you won’t eat anymore.'”
