Kia drops the price of its electric Niro EV by €8,000 with this huge discount

While it no longer has the right to benefit from the ecological bonus of 4,000 euros, the electric Kia Niro EV nevertheless benefits from a new discount. The latter is of the order of 8,000 euros until the end of April.

Like all manufacturers, Kia wants to accelerate its electrification, just like its cousin Hyundai which is planning a vast plan of attack. But the firm is undermined by a small detail: the reform of the ecological bonus.

A generous discount

In fact, no more models in its range are now eligible for government aid of 4,000 euros. In question, an environmental score that is too low, which does not allow the Korean firm’s electric cars to have the right to benefit from this little boost, as is also the case for all cars produced in China. And of course, this poses a problem for Kia, which risks doing without many customers, preferring to turn to competing models and which can benefit from the bonus.

This is how last December, the manufacturer put in place a commercial offer, taking the form of a discount of 5,000 euros on its Niro EV. The latter, rather well positioned in the sales figures in France, benefited from a little boost, valid for one month. And obviously, this has borne fruit since the Korean firm is doing it again in April, as it announced on his website.

And this time, the price drop is even greater, since Kia offers a promotion of up to 8,000 euros. This offer is valid throughout the month of April, until the 30th inclusive, for the purchase of a Niro EV. And inevitably, this has a significant impact on the price of the electric SUV, which melts like snow in the sun. It then goes from 45,690 to only 37,690 euros thanks to this little help. Enough to better position yourself against the competition.

For the record, the Tesla Model Y is priced from 44,990 euros, but it is eligible for ecological bonus of 4,000 euros due to its production in Europe. Its entry ticket is 40,990 euros once aid has been deducted. Please note that the discount offered by Kia is accessible without conditions, for all customers who place an order during the month of April.

Two versions available

You should also know that the discount of 8,000 euros is also valid on long-term rental offers, whatever the version. The entry-level Motion finish is accessible from 387 euros per month, however with a first rent of 5,000 euros, once the reduction has been deducted. The Active finish can be yours for 407 euros per month, again with a first rent of 5,000 euros.

The standard equipment is rather generous and includes, among other things, keyless access and starting, lane keeping assistance as well as adaptive cruise control. The 10.25-inch touchscreen is also included, as is the same-sized digital handset. The top finish notably adds active highway driving assistance, which takes the form of a semi-autonomous driving system.

Under its hood, the electric SUV rivaling the Renault Mégane E-Tech and the Peugeot e-2008, among others, has a 204 horsepower engine. The latter is supplemented by a 64.8 kWh battery, which allows it to display a range of up to 460 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. The Kia Niro EV also features bi-directional charging and battery pre-conditioning, as well as a 11 kW on-board charger in direct current.
