At the very end of last year, the Kia group began its teasing campaign for its first 100% electric SUV, a certain EV9. In the coming months, the brand will, in fact, invest in the very juicy market of electric SUVs, and intends to surf on a very positive sales dynamic to impose itself.
Of course, this future EV9 SUV will be based on the same E-GMP platform as the very recent Kia EV6 sedan. Recently, it was the American division of the firm that leaked new information about it, through a survey of certain customers.
Up to 405 hp of power for the Kia EV9?
According to information gathered by Electrek, the future Kia EV9 SUV could be available in two major versions, with one or two electric motors on board. The entry-level version would thus have an engine with just over 200 hp, for 340 Nm of torque, with 19″ rims.
In its dual-motorized version, the SUV would allow the driver to enjoy a total power of 405 hp, with 515 Nm of torque, here with all-wheel drive and the possibility of opting for 20 or 21 “wheels.
Furthermore, with regard to space on board, the entry-level versions of the future Kia EV9 SUV would only offer ” that »six seats, against seven seats for the premium versions. The entry-level version would also be devoid of any towing capacity, compared to 900 kg from the second level of configuration.
Finally, the survey conducted by Kia also reveals a first price list, with a first price set at 56,000 dollars for the entry level, and which stretches to reach 73,000 dollars for the largest model.
However, we will have to wait a little longer to find out everything, officially this time, about this future Kia EV9, the full presentation being planned for this year 2023, before marketing the following year.
