Reality TV star Kim Kardashian (43) is filming a documentary about Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011). How “Deadline” reports, among others, that Kardashian is serving as executive producer for “Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar.” This is the working title of the documentary series created for the British broadcaster BBC.

The documentary “promises a new understanding of Elizabeth Taylor – both her technique and power as an actress and her ability to reinvent herself,” says the BBC. The two-time Oscar winner provided a blueprint for the modern star cult. She redefined the relationship between celebrities and audiences and established herself as a businesswoman and activist.

Kim Kardashian isn’t just involved in the Taylor documentary behind the scenes. She will also have her say in front of the camera alongside stars like Joan Collins (90). Speaking to the fashion magazine, Kim Kardashian described Elizabeth Taylor as her “idol”. She particularly highlights the British woman’s jewelry collection, the “most iconic in the world.”

When her jewelry collection was auctioned off after Liz Taylor’s death, Kim Kardashian struck. She is said to have bought three gold and jade bracelets for $65,000. In total, the auction generated $116 million, some of which went to the AIDS Foundation, to which Elizabeth Taylor was involved.
