King Charles encourages royal fans to buy dogs

It has long been known that Queen Elizabeth, † 96, was a huge fan of Corgis, owned and even bred several. After her death, according to “The Telegraph”, the number of Corgi owners even increased. But now the Corgi cult could be replaced by another royal dog trend. Suddenly it’s supposed to be quite popular in Great Britain to get the favorite breed of the new monarch, King Charles. The 73-year-old is particularly fond of Jack Russell Terriers and owns two, Bluebell and Beth. Reportedly, the number of registered Jack Russell dogs has increased by 71 percent compared to the same period last year.

A spokeswoman for the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) explained: “Although many of these dogs are small, they are usually described as having large, cheeky and fun personalities and tend to be very active. The popularity of certain types of dogs is increasing often triggered by popular culture – such as public figures owning them – and we have seen an increase in the popularity of certain breeds due to new film releases and popularity on social media.” She appeals to all people who get a Jack Russell Terrier to treat them responsibly.
