King Frederik
This reminds him of his beloved grandma Ingrid
King Frederik had a very close relationship with his grandmother Queen Ingrid. Now the monarch is publicly paying tribute to his former confidante.
King Frederik’s beloved grandmother is part of his exhibition
A few weeks ago, the palace announced that the exhibition “Frederik 10th – King of Tomorrow” would start in the Amalienborg Museum on Thursday, March 21, 2024. “Objects, portrait paintings, photographs and videos that tell the life and person of the king” will be presented, it said on the court’s Instagram account with photos of a captain’s hat, a helmet and a coin. As “Billed Bladet” now reports, a special heirloom will also be shown in the museum: Ingrid’s table clock. The unusual clock in the shape of a turtle was an integral part of the late queen’s house. After her death in 2000, the table clock became his property and is still in the Chancellery to this day when it is not on display.
Monarch has touching words about Queen Ingrid
In his youth, King Frederik was not a good speaker and royal appointments were difficult for him, he emphasizes in his book. In addition, the media became increasingly interested in the then crown prince, who made headlines with his party life, car accidents and changing girlfriends. Ingrid had the ability to soothe her grandson in the face of public pressure. “In this context, my grandmother, Queen Ingrid, was very good at reassuring and protecting me. She sensed the crisis I was in as a boy and young man,” says Frederik in his work. Now he is paying tribute to his grandmother again.
