King Willem-Alexander in Formula 1
Selfie time with daughter Amalia
King Willem-Alexander attended the Formula 1 qualifying session on Saturday. He captured the visit with a selfie with his daughter Amalia.
The Dutch royals had already been seen at Formula 1 in Zandvoort in 2021. At that time, Willem-Alexander appeared with his wife Queen Máxima, 52, and daughters Amalia and Ariane, 16, at the Dutch Grand Prix. The family also met Verstappen in the pit lane.
change in the family
The Dutch royal family recently reported that Princess Ariane has started a new chapter in her life. The youngest daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima is starting her first year at her new school in Italy, sources said in an Instagram post. She will do her International Baccalaureate (equivalent to the German Abitur) at the United World College Adriatic near Trieste. Like her older sister, Princess Alexia, 18, Ariane is moving abroad. The 18-year-old graduated from the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales just a few weeks ago.
Crown Princess Amalia, on the other hand, stayed home for her school career. She graduated from the Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in The Hague in 2021. She has been studying politics, psychology, law and economics at the University of Amsterdam since September 2022. On her 18th birthday on December 7, 2021, she entered the State Council in accordance with the constitution and has regularly taken on public duties ever since. In February 2023 she completed her first official trip abroad.
