kk0ma already wants to resign from the Korean selection at the Asian Games

Selected to coach the South Korean team at the Asian Games 2022, former DWG KIA head coach Kim “kk0ma” Jeong-gyun has already become disillusioned. The 36-year-old Korean, LCK champion, MSI champion and world champion had been announced at the head of the selection by KeSPA, for manage the League of Legends team at the esports competition of these Asian Olympics. His prelist of 10 players was recently unveiled but not everything is going as planned for him.

According to the website Invent Global, the coach is already on the way. He would have informed KeSPA of his deep disagreement with the mode of operation of the Korean esports federation, and the management of players. Big tensions seem to have driven kk0ma to announce his intention to resign, the fault of a busy schedule who cannot allow him to do his job properly. He spoke about it in an interview:

I kept telling KeSPA that the schedule was wrong […] Players have very busy schedules at this stage. They have the MSI, the Summer Split, the playoffs. […] When you have five to seven players playing on a roster, it takes a long time to decide who is the best. There are too many things to consider when working with these 10 players. The final list of six players must be fixed as soon as possible.

Committee members must now choose the 5 holders and the substitute among the 10 pre-selected playersbased on 8 criteria such as the ability to manage pressure, international experience or even a sense of duty and patriotism. kk0ma and KeSPA were due to discuss this weekend, but so far a decision has not been made on the manager’s future.
