How to knit your neon hat for a warm head

When the cold wind blows everything around our ears, then it’s time for a warm hat. If you want it to sit perfectly, then do it yourself! Guido shows you how.

You need:

  • Yarn from Langyarns, quality “Neon” (67% recycled polyester, 33% virgin wool, length 85 m / 50 g): 100 g in neon orange No. 1055.0061.
  • 1 short circular needle or double pointed needles 5 (if you knit loosely) or 6 (if you knit tightly) – it is important that you get the information on the gauge
  • Wool package for the PATENT MÜTZE 13.90 euros via gettotext-woman.de/wollpakete

Patent sample:

In rounds.

1.R: Slip off P 1 st with a yarn over, K 1 alternately.

2.R: P 1 tog with the yarn over from the previous round, P 1 slip off with a yarn over alternately = round A.

3rd R: P 1 slip off with a yarn over, K 1 tog with the yarn over from the previous round alternately = round B.

Knit 1st row 1x, then alternate 2nd and 3rd row.

Knitting sample:

Patent pattern: 11 sts and 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Cast on 48 sts very loosely and knit in the round in patent pattern. 25 cm from the stop, after one round A, the next one

Work 1st round of decrease: * Knit 1 st according to pattern, K 3 tog, knit 8 sts according to pattern, repeat from * 3 times = 40 sts knit 3 rounds without decreases.

2nd round of acceptance: * Knit 1 st according to pattern, K 3 tog, knit 6 sts according to pattern, repeat from * 3 times = 32 sts knit 3 rounds without decreases.

3rd round of acceptance: * Knit 1 st according to pattern, K 3 tog, knit 4 sts according to pattern, repeat from * 3 times = 24 sts knit 3 rounds without decreases.

Then tighten all sts together, knit 1 st according to pattern, then lift back on the left needle and pull all following sts over these sts, at the end pull all sts together tightly, pull the last loop to a length of approx. 10 cm, cut the end thread and make a tight knot together with the loop, pull the threads inside the hat.
