With this in mind, Korean Vice Minister of Science and Technology Jo Sung-kyung traveled to France last week to meet with organizations specializing in space research to discuss ways to promote cooperation in the field. , she said.

She met the Director General of the ESA, Josef Aschbacher, last Friday, with whom she agreed to form a working group to find concrete elements to set up cooperation between Korea and Europe in the field. of space exploration.
The two sides notably discussed the coexistence and interoperability of the Korean (KPS) and European (Galileo) GPS systems, data sharing via deep space communications networks, and cooperation in subject of scientific space exploration.
Josef Aschbacher expressed his hope for South Korea to participate in ESA’s large-scale space exploration projects, including future lunar missions and those headed to Venus.
Identify points of cooperation
The Korean vice minister also visited the National Center for Space Studies (CNES), where she notably addressed the issue of fundraising to support aerospace organizations in her country and ours.
