Zendaya’s singing career is currently on hold – but perhaps not forever.

Zendaya has focused primarily on acting in recent years. She also loves music, as she now emphasizes.
From “Dune” to “Challengers – Rivals”: Zendaya (27) has become an integral part of the screen. But the Emmy-winning American was also previously active as a musician, which she recently neglected in favor of her acting career. However, she has not completely shelved this mainstay, as she has now revealed in an interview. She can imagine singing again “one day.”
She doesn’t want to give fans too much hope
In 2013, she had released her debut album titled “Zendaya” which contained her hit single “Replay”. At During her appearance on the “Jennifer Hudson Show” she now explained that resuming her music career is definitely possible. “I love music and it is something special for me,” said Zendaya to moderator Jennifer Hudson (42), who is the right person to talk to about the topic. Hudson has already distinguished herself as both a singer and an actress.
But Zendaya also struck a thoughtful note, because doing music as a career is different from just being a hobby: “I think being in the music industry may not have killed the joy of music, but you bring music and business together. Sometimes you can “It doesn’t feel so good.” When the “right time” comes, she may publish something again. However, she immediately appealed to her fans: “Don’t go crazy! We’ll see, but maybe one day.”
Before the Coachella surprise performance, she had stage fright
Although Zendaya hasn’t released her own music in recent years, she has collaborated with other artists on tracks. For example with rapper Labrinth (35), who composed the music for her successful series “Euphoria”.
The 27-year-old also admitted in an interview with Jennifer Hudson that she has a lot of stage fright before live performances. So she initially wanted to decline the invitation to a gig with Labrinth at the Coachella Festival in 2023. “He asked me if I wanted to come and perform, and I immediately said, ‘Oh, absolutely not.’ I thought, ‘I can’t do that’.” Then she finally talked herself into it and told herself that she “can’t run away from this forever.” Coachella marked Zendaya’s first live performance in more than seven years.
