The shock is deep in Ibach SZ: In a doctor’s practice in an apartment building, over 100 people are said to have been vaccinated against Corona this year – with an expired Moderna vaccine! According to the cantonal office for health and social affairs, the doctor Susanne Niemann (51) is responsible for this.
“This is just unreal. Then I’m also affected, “says Margrit Schilter (63) from Ibach to Blick. At the end of April and the end of May, she had received a Moderna vaccination from the doctor who had worked in the village for about a year – without any major side effects.
According to the current state of knowledge, health effects due to the expired vaccine are not to be expected, according to the Office for Health and Social Affairs. However, it is currently not possible to make any reliable statements about the effectiveness and thus the vaccination protection of the affected manufacturer Moderna. Corresponding clarifications are in progress.
The booster appointment no longer came
Schilter says that she wanted to have the booster vaccination later, but: “First she told me that her father had died and turned me away twice.” The doctor then called her to see if she could come over one evening. “She just wasn’t there.”
She wanted to make the last booster appointment last week, said Schilter. “I haven’t heard from the doctor.” For them, one thing is certain: “I want to have the booster done by another doctor.”
“Insufficient documentation”
Schilter is one of the patients who could not be identified by the Office for Health and Social Affairs. This “because of insufficient documentation of the vaccinations in the doctor’s office,” so the office. It urges all people who have received a Covid 19 vaccination at Niemann this year to adapt their behavior to the possible lack of vaccination protection.
For Kristina Kovac (34) a case with an announcement. “I started working for this doctor at the beginning of September because her practice is near my apartment,” said the pharmaceutical assistant. “What I experienced with her was abnormal.” Niemann always puked.
Criminal proceedings against doctor opened
Kovac says she saw “a lot of expired drugs”, but: “All she said was that she couldn’t throw them away. She would lose too much money. ” She never noticed anything about the vaccinations. “She did this on Wednesday evening or Saturday morning.”
The collaboration “escalated” on September 22nd. Kovac: “It was so bad that I had to take sick leave.” She then received the notice of termination from Niemann on September 27th. “That was fine with me.” In the end, she also had to fight for her wages. “I hope that she will never be allowed to work as a doctor again.”
The practice as a doctor is temporarily prohibited, the practice is closed. The public prosecutor has opened criminal proceedings against her. She could not be reached by Blick. It is the presumption of innocence.
