Former track cyclist Kristina Vogel and her long-time partner Michael Seidenbecher have gotten engaged. The ex-athlete now confirms the good news to RTL.

In her Instagram story, Kristina Vogel shares some shots from the Greentech Festival in Berlin, which she took part in on May 15, 2024. In one clip, the 33-year-old grabs a beer bottle and enjoys a sip. What you notice is that her left ring finger is decorated with a not exactly small diamond.
When asked by RTL, Vogel confirmed that the piece of jewelry was an engagement ring. The ex-athlete recently went on a 21-day cruise with Michael Seidenbecher, 39, with whom she has been dating since 2005. On the ship, Michael asked for Kristina’s hand in marriage – and she said “yes”.

The Olympic champion had a pulmonary embolism and had to undergo emergency surgery
Kristina Vogel obtained her doctors’ approval beforehand for the three-week vacation. “I would never have flown without it,” she says in an interview with RTL. On April 15, Kristina Vogel posted a long post from the hospital. Two days earlier she suddenly felt bad, her pulse was much too fast.
“I had a pulmonary embolism,” Vogel wrote, explaining that she underwent emergency surgery just hours after arriving at the clinic. So-called thrombi, i.e. blood clots, were removed. “I had so many thrombi in my lungs that my heart pressure had already risen and it was becoming life-threatening. […] One more day at home would probably have been my last day,” said the ex-track cyclist.
Ex-track cyclist had an accident while training
Kristina Vogel had an accident while training in the Cottbus cycling stadium in 2018 when she collided with another track cyclist. She sustained serious injuries to her spine and had to be put into an induced coma. She won the fight for her life, but has been paralyzed ever since. As in every situation in life, Michael Seidenbecher was always at her side and will soon be her husband.
