“Krone” survey – a clear “yes” to the Christmas markets

After their forced Corona break, they will finally take place again this year: the Christmas markets. This not only pleases the exhibitors, but also the guests. In a “Krone” survey, 65 percent were in favor of it being carried out. But if you also want to enjoy punch and sausages, you must be able to show valid Corona proof.

Should Christmas markets take place again this year after the forced Corona break? In the past few days and weeks, this question has not only preoccupied politicians and exhibitors, but also “krone.at” users. Our question of the week made it very clear that the Upper Austrians do not want to do without punch and sausages again. A total of 3752 readers took part in the online survey, and 65 percent were of the opinion that the Christmas markets should take place this year.

Bracelets are distributed
However, it will not work entirely without corona measures, even if the area fences that were initially feared do not materialize. The 3-G rules currently apply to restaurants and rides. In Linz, those who have been vaccinated, recovered and those who have been tested receive a colored bracelet at their own control points. It applies to all Christmas markets in Linz, but only for one day, because the colors are changed every day. If you just want to stroll through, you don’t need any proof.

The construction work for the markets is already in full swing, on November 20… it starts in Linz.
