M6 broadcasts on Thursday October 5 from 9:10 p.m. the TV film “La Belle Sparkle” with Mélanie Doutey and Bernard Campan. This fiction tells the story of the creation of a restaurant in which most of the employees have mental or cognitive disabilities.
What is it about ?
“Noé, a young adult with autistic disorders, is passionate about cooking. Since he was 6 years old, he has learned recipes by heart. Unfortunately, he has difficulty finding a job in the kitchen and especially keeping it because of his relational disability and his dyspraxia.
After yet another failure, his mother Virginie gave him the chance to realize his dream. His project: to set up an inclusive restaurant that hires young people with cognitive disorders. For his part, Philippe Lamarck, a great chef, loses his star just when he was hoping to get his second.
His excessive angry reaction and his comments denigrating disabled people were filmed without his knowledge, the video went viral. This episode shatters his career: he loses his job, his reputation and all hope. To improve his image, he agrees to work in Virginie’s future restaurant: La Belle Sparkle.”

One of the strengths of this TV movie is its distribution. We feel the involvement of the members of the cast in their approach. As sparkling as ever, Mélanie Doutey is perfect and endearing in the role of this mother determined to make her son’s dream come true. Bernard Campan, for his part, aptly embodies this gruff and very clumsy leader in certain situations…
Gauthier Gagnière, who debuts in front of the camera, offers an honest and convincing first performance, just like the rest of his disabled comrades on screen who are, as a reminder and for the most part, employees of the real restaurant La Belle Sparkle!
Everyone delivers a natural performance here and delivers lines that hit the mark in order to put things into perspective… and sometimes (received) ideas into place! Their sincerity and naturalness definitely anchor this fiction a little more in reality.
La Belle Sparkle is a nice TV movie to follow, where tolerance and humanity reign supreme. Inclusive, it deals with an important subject with a certain freshness and the story is told simply, with kindness. The only downside is that viewers will not be surprised by the progress and then the conclusion of this joyful story.
