La Boite Concept launches its new compact connected speaker, the PR Link. A device with a neat design inspired by the PR/01. Far from being cheap, this product justifies its price with its superior quality materials and cutting-edge audio architecture. Designed in Europe, it was assembled in the Landes and the Basque Country.

The PR Link is designed with medium density fiberboard and high density wood. There is also a matte black finish, a walnut grille covered with matte varnish, an aluminum wand and volume knob. The connected speaker measures 36 x 25 x 16 cm and weighs only 6 kilos. The weight increases to 12 kilos if you get it with the matt black powder-coated steel support foot with a wooden blade. The accessory has a location to house the connectors.

The speaker integrates La Boite Concept’s Escape adapter, which offers advanced connectivity to the speaker with Bluetooth (aptX codec compatible) and wifi (AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect…) support. It also has three ports (USB-C, USB-A, HDMI ARC respectively), a Toslink optical socket, an analog RCA line input and a 3.5 mm mini-jack line input.

What are the sound characteristics of the PR Link?
The PR Link is equipped with two 19mm tweeters placed on the front and a system, called Active Pressure Reflex, which is based on an 11.5mm bass/midrange driver on the front and an 11.5mm woofer. cm at the back. These two speakers are connected by a closed tube which allows the whole thing to function like a piston in order to optimize the rendering of low frequencies.

At the back of the connected speaker, there is also a vent that lets air pass through to produce more powerful and deeper bass sounds. The device features a Micromega amplification system, designed by La Boite Concept, consisting of one amplifier per speaker. We therefore find two AB amplifiers for the tweeters and two D amplifiers for the bass speakers.
