Lana del Rey: Netz-Mask causes critical comments

Lana Del Rey was heavily criticized for a reading of her new book – the musician wore questionable mouth and nose "protection".

Lana Del Rey (35, "Born to Die") presented and read from her new collection of poems "Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass" in a bookstore in Los Angeles this weekend. When meeting her fans, the singer wore a mesh-like glitter face mask, as can be seen on Instagram in a backstage video that Del Rey himself published. In the clip, stylists buzz around the singer, who meanwhile points to her books on the table in front of her and announces that she will sign them for the fans.

After the video was published and some more pictures, which fans made during the book signing and posted on Twitter, caught a wave of criticism on Del Rey. "What kind of mask is that?" Asks not only one Instagram follower in the comments on the clip. "I love you, but please wear a mask! That's bad news", "You make good music but make wrong decisions" or "You are out of your mind" are other comments. The singer is "irresponsible" and endangers herself and others in the corona pandemic, other followers criticize.

Del Rey's corona test apparently negative

According to "The Independent", Caroline Grant (32), the singer's sister, said that Del Rey had tested negative for the corona virus and that she had kept more than 1.5 meters away from the fans. A Twitter picture, which was apparently also made at the event, however, shows the singer face to face with a fan. The reticulated mask was reminiscent of Del Rey's cover for Interview magazine, for which she wore a similar mouthguard. So far, Del Rey has not reacted to the shitstorm. She just posted a new clip in which she recites another poem – this time with a closed Leo-look mask.
