A terrible record. A mother and her 4-year-old daughter died in a particularly violent car accident. Her other 12-year-old daughter was injured.
The facts, revealed by La Dépêche, occurred Tuesday afternoon on the departmental road 933 at the level of the town of Lubbon (Landes).
For reasons which remain to be determined, the mother of the family has lost control of her vehicle, becoming embedded in the plane tree of the garden of an inhabitant.
Helpers, deployed in large numbers, quickly arrived at the scene of the tragedy. Doctors were unable to resuscitate the mother, who died shortly after their arrival.

Supported in absolute emergency, the 4-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries, just before being transported to hospital.
The 12-year-old child, who had been thrown from the car in the accident, was helicoptered to Bordeaux hospital. She suffers from a head trauma and several fractures but her life is not in danger.
The Mont-de-Marsan gendarmerie was responsible for the investigation. According to the first elements cited by La Dépêche, the family was returning by car from a stay in Portugal.
The 42-year-old mother missed a turn after a straight line, causing the vehicle to go off the road. Investigators must now determine the reasons why the driver missed this turn.
According to the newspaper, the 12-year-old girl is now alone. She had lost her father in 2018 and the mother had no family in their town of residence.
