Lapsus$ is back: software manufacturer Globant is the latest victim

The hacker group “Lapsus$” has caused a stir in recent weeks with its cyber attacks. Among their victims, large corporations such as Microsoft and Ubisoft.

The group went silent last week after seven people were arrested in connection with the attacks. But then “Lapsus$” announced on its own Telegram channel that the vacation was over. The first victim was not long in coming: the software company Globant.

The hacker group shared a screenshot via Telegram. This shows folders that are Globant’s customers. With DHL, Facebook, Banco Galicia and more. According to their own statements, 70 gigabytes of data were also stolen. This includes, among other things, admin passwords and source codes.

Globant includes cloud programs such as Belatrix and CloudShift. The company also produces software for its customers. These include a data platform for Autodesk, tutorials from Stride and the London Metropolitan Police app.

Security experts from VX-Underground criticize Globant’s security standards. Because the passwords were not only easy to guess, but had already been used multiple times.
