After the deadline, the form will still be available on impots.gouv.fr. SO, why should you avoid declaring after the deadline? Because, if you declare your income after the deadline, you complete a late declaration, which exposes you to a 10% increase in income tax.
Only households eligible for automatic declaration do not risk late declaration: in their case, doing nothing = declaring. Even if they were interested in verifying the absence of errors, omissions, or claiming the credits and reductions to which they are entitled.
May 25 also for French people living abroad
If you live outside France and you declare your income online, the deadline is set for May 25, 2023, underlines the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) in the practical brochure for the 2023 declaration. With additional precision: Residents of Monaco who are required to file a tax return in France must file it with the personal tax department of Menton.
