“There is a scene that I love and that I was thinking about not long ago, it’s a scene from The Wing or the Thigh”Laurent Lafitte told us with relish. “Coluche makes a clown in secret. His father, a great industrialist played by Louis de Funès, does not know that his son is a clown and that he has had this dream since he was little.”

“De Funès removes the moss”continues Lafitte with a smile. “He is very, very angry, and he says to Coluche “So, if we send foam like that, if I send you a cream pie, will that make people laugh?” And Coluche says “Well yeah”. De Funès says to him “Oh good?”, then he takes the bucket and sends the foam on Coluche’s head and no one laughs. Coluche says “It’s a failure” and De Funès replies “Like you” .
“I find it super violent”concludes Laurent Lafitte. “And there, De Funès leaves, he slides on the foam and everyone in the circus laughs. I think it’s a very beautiful scene.” The Wing or the Thigh was a huge public success with more than 5.8 million spectators in French cinemas.
