Attorney Jack McCoy returns in the Law & Order series revival. One of the longest-serving cast members on the original NBC series, Sam Waterston will resume his popular role in season 21 of the crime drama on February 24, 2021.
Like his fellow actor Anthony Anderson (“Black-ish”), who is taking up his role as Detective Kevin Bernard again, Waterston is said to have signed a one-year contract for the new edition. “Very few casting announcements have ever given me so much pleasure,” revealed series creator Dick Wolf in an interview with the online magazine Deadline.
