This weekend several people have been digging through the source code of the official Arc System Works site, and have managed to find some as yet unreleased images of Guilty Gear’s upcoming fighter Strive. Besides her appearance in the game, these also show an original stage that will probably be released at the same time as her.
Of course, this image doesn’t tell much, apart from the presence of a new decor and a special move from Baiken. The Tatami Gaeshi is a bit of the latter’s signature, her BnB special move in previous episodes. In Revelator 2, this move can be used to control space, start a combo, frame trap or end a blockstring in a safe way. Of course, it is not certain that he will keep all these possibilities in Strive, and finally his presence is not really a surprise. We will therefore have to wait a little longer before learning more about Baiken and its gameplay, probably until January 29 if we are based on the data collected by these “visitors” who are a little too curious. Nevertheless it is not impossible that in the face of its leaks, Arc System Works advances the date of the revelations, even if it seems unlikely given that this weekend will take place the last American qualifying tournament for ARCREVO America. This is the last region not to know all of its qualifiers. The qualifiers for the European finals are already known.

Baiken will be the fourth character in Season Pass 1, after Jack-O, Goldlewis Dickinson and Happy Chaos. She will also be the first character not to have been datamined when the game was released. As a reminder, according to information collected at the time, the five characters were to be Jack-O, Goldlewis, Happy Chaos, Jam Kuradoberi and Asuka/That Man. According to statements from Arc System Works announcing two returning (Jack-O/Baiken) and three original characters (Goldlewis/Happy Chaos/???), the final member of Season Pass 1 should be an original character. Asuka (also known as That Man) seems to be the ideal candidate given her role in the story, but a surprise is still possible. Since a continuation of the story mode must also be released in Season Pass 1, it is not impossible that a new character will appear during this new arc, and that it will be him who closes the first season on Strive.
