This new feature coming in Microsoft Edge might turn out to be more useful than it looks.
Earlier this year, Microsoft incorporated various Bing AI features into its SwiftKey virtual keyboard. Good news: one of them will now be coming to customers of the desktop version of Microsoft Edge.

On X.com, a certain leopeva64 recently discovered a new option in the desktop version of Microsoft Edge (Canary channel): when you write text, the browser will allow you to call on the services of Bing AI to suggest changes for you. More concretely, by selecting a portion of text, you will then be able to ask the AI to rewrite the desired section of text. Edge will then show you a pop-up window with AI-generated text in the style of your choice: business, casual, enthusiastic, and informal.
The possibilities won’t stop there since you will also be able to ask the AI to modify the format of the text (paragraph, email, blog post, etc.) as well as its length (short, medium or long). For the time being, only certain Edge Canary users can get their hands on this feature. We will therefore obviously have to wait a little longer before it is officially deployed on a large scale.
