The Warner Bros. group. Discovery announces the launch of its Max streaming platform in France on June 11. It will include all the group’s content as well as a Sport option to follow the 2024 Paris Olympics.
She will have been kept waiting. After several months of uncertainty surrounding its launch, the Max platform is arriving in France on June 11, as announced by the Warner Bros. group. Discovery in a press release.
Max will bring together all the productions of the century-old audiovisual group, which includes very popular licenses like Harry PotterDC Comics (Batman, Superman, the recent Joker…), Matrixbut also all the series produced by HBO, owned by the group, such as Succession, The Last of Us, Euphoria and so many others. The first subscribers will be able to find the second season, eagerly awaited by fans, of House of the Dragon from June 16, 2024. This will serve as the flagship for this launch.
Several offers proposed, including one with advertising
Warner Bros. Discovery will offer several offers to French subscribers, starting with a first price of 5.99 euros per month for an offer including advertising. Max, like its competitors, will rely on a very tight price and on advertisers, by offering advertisements before and during the programs.
Two other subscription plans for the streaming platform will be offered, with the Standard plan at 9.99 euros per month for Full HD quality and access to the group’s television channels (Boomerang, Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, CNN International, Discovery Channel, ID, TCM Cinema, TLC, Warner TV and Warner TV Next).
A final Premium plan, at 13.99 euros per month, will offer in addition to content 4K quality and Dolby Atmos sound for content offered under these conditions, as well as four devices simultaneously.
In detail, here are the Max offers offered in France:
- Max Basic with advertising: Full HD, 2 users simultaneously at 5.99 euros per month;
- Max Standard: Full HD, 2 users simultaneously, up to 30 offline contents and access to TV channels at 9.99 euros per month;
- Max Premium: Full HD, 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos sound, 4 simultaneous users, up to 100 offline content and access to TV channels at 13.99 euros per month.
Subscribers to the Canal+ Ciné Séries and Canal+ Friends and Family offers will benefit from Max in their subscription, and at no additional cost.
A Sport option for Eurosport and the Olympics
In addition to these three offers, Max will offer a Sport option from June 11, billed at 5 euros per month and available for all subscriptions offered by the platform.
The Sport option will allow access to the Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 channels, whose antennas broadcast numerous sports competitions. In particular, we find “ the Australian Open and the US Open, all ATP Tournaments, the three Grand Tours of cycling, including the Giro d’Italia, La Vuelta and the Tour de France “. Eurosport is also the global broadcaster of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and will offer all the events.
Max will be available through a mobile application on all platforms as well as on Orange, Free and SFR boxes. Subscribers to Amazon Prime Video’s Warner Pass will be able to enjoy Max content, the option remaining available after launch.
