The owner in the elevator, the dog in front of it: In an office building in Bochum, a leashed four-legged friend was pulled up by a moving elevator. The owner wanted to get into the elevator with her dog on a leash in the basement, as the Bochum fire brigade announced on Monday. When the door closed, she was already in the cabin, but her animal was not.
When the elevator started to move, the dog was pulled higher and higher. Presence of mind, the woman stopped the elevator on the ground floor and blocked the light barrier. According to the fire department, the dog was helpless at the time in the basement at the top of the elevator door.
Frightened dog was stabilized
In order to free the four-legged friend from its predicament, the fire brigade moved in. In the office building, the emergency services would still have found the dog owner on the floor of the elevator cabin. In her hand she was holding the last ten centimeters of the dog leash, at the other end of which the animal was hanging.
The frightened dog was stabilized in the basement. Then his dishes were carefully cut through and the four-legged friend was freed from its predicament. It was handed over to its owner unharmed. (AFP)
