LED strips to enhance your monitor

If you are an RGB aficionado and want to have beautiful colors around your PC (in addition to inside) the Philips Hue is for you.

Two years ago Philips unveiled Play, an LED strip system for televisions that allowed colors to be synchronized with what is displayed on the screen. In 2022 this product returns but to adapt to the monitors of our PCs. History of juggling between immersion and aesthetics.

Full immersion ?

The operation is actually quite simple, just attach the headband to the back of the screen, then synchronize everything with the Hue Sync application. Note that it is obviously also compatible with other applications like Corsair iCue. As soon as it’s on, the LED strip will display colors that automatically adapt to the content being broadcast. For example, if you are watching a fire scene, it is mainly orange light that will be diffused via the LED, with beautiful nuances.

It is not the first manufacturer to offer this type of product since a range also exists at Corsair, which even has its own family of lighting accessories for PCs.

Philips gives the prices

This new range of Philips LED strips will be available from September 13th. For the pricing it’s a bit steep because it will still cost 169 dollars for a 24 to 27 inch screen, and 189 dollars for a screen between 32 and 34.
