No sooner had we begun to recover from the leak of the characteristics of Lenovo’s future portable PC console than its trailer leaked prematurely. Originally planned to be unveiled during theIFA of this Friday, September 1, let’s take advantage of this situation to examine in preview the messages that the Chinese manufacturer seeks to convey.
Something as amusing as it is surprising, Lenovo took the liberty of taking as the first game presented the most optimized there is: Hi-Fi Rush. The title, while cell shadingalready runs smoothly in ultra 1080p 120 Hz (or more) on the ROG Ally. The choice is wise, it suggests that we can finally, with this console, easily reach a high number of FPS, and this, while maintaining an impressive graphic quality. In other words, nothing better to praise the merits of 144 Hz and the overall performance of the machine.
Later in the video, we see twice the most coveted game of the moment: Starfield. The implication is clear: if you want to play the next blockbuster of Microsoft nomadic or fixed, the Legion GB is made for you. Some will cry bluff, because, apart from the thumbnail of the game, no image of said game (gameplay) will not appear in this trailer. To counterbalance, Lenovo had the good idea to include Ghostwire Tokyoa very demanding 3D game that is not really known for its optimization.
Around the fortieth second, the detachment of the controllers is done in a humorous way. The surroundings of gamer- confined to playing on seedy old arcade terminals – is smug with admiration in front of this feat, to believe that they have never seen Switch. Obviously, Lenovo tries to make believe that they are the only ones to have thought of it, to be innovative. In reality, this way of playing already exists in nintendo and on other Chinese portable PC consoles (in particular at One XPlayer). However, one detail makes the difference and lends credence to the message conveyed: the Legion Go will be the only portable PC console with detachable controllers to be released worldwide.
Even more impressive, the player will be given the opportunity to put the controller on the desk like a suction cup and use it as a real joystick (FPS mode) for more precision in shooting games. For once, we were not ready!
Passage through the library, apart from showing thatit will be possible to insert a micro-SD card of maximum 2 TB, is a great find. What better than such a place to illustrate the silence of the console? What better than a library to suggest that the loudest noise is you, not the machine?
At the end of the video, we see a gamer returning home and recharging his console in record time (on the Go). There too, we remain on the concept of the famous “Go” of the machine: continue to play without the slightest interruption, without the slightest problem, and in all possible ways.
“In every way possible”, this is what we see at the end of this video with the Legion Glasses AR, the new connected glasses from the firm. For the demonstration, we observe a gamer slumped in his chair, detached controllers in hand, sporting said glasses, playing on a giant screen. Before approaching the subject of the device, let us note that the idea of detachable controllers (in the context of a remote screen) remains excellent, as it spares the customer the need to acquire an Xbox or PS5 controller to enjoy their games.
Now back to our glasses, here are the features :

If we had to compare Lenovo’s connected glasses to the Rokid Max, know that the latter wins (for the moment) hands down. The last Rokid date have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a mechanism allowing nearsighted people to be able to take advantage of it without resorting to corrective lenses, a blackout shell, and above all a lower price of $439. It will therefore be necessary to wait for further information and to have it within sight to confirm or refute this first impression.
The trailer reveals a portable PC console with a large screen, fast, silent and efficient, whose ergonomics allow you to play in any condition and for any type of game. If theupscale games in 720 and 1080p is correct, if the weight of the machine is well distributed, if the heating is containedif the software overlay is good and the guarantee as well as the follow-up prove to be at the level of the console ofAsus… Brief, if all these conditions are met, there is no reason that would prevent the Legion Go from dethroning its direct competitor.
Rumors point to an October 2023 release as well as an announced price of €799 for the 256 GB version of the Legion Go. We will certainly be more on September 1st. We’ll also be keeping a close eye on those who have had the honor of trying it out, so stay tuned.
