Including Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne, fifteen members of the government are in the running for the legislative elections and will have to leave the executive in the event of defeat in accordance with a rule already applied in 2017. This election was marked by record abstention, oscillating around 53 %. The Macronist Coalition Together! would obtain the most seats in the National Assembly, but without certainty of obtaining an absolute majority in terms of seats. Pending the first definitive results, the estimates place the presidential majority neck and neck with the New People’s, Ecological and Social Union (Nupes). According to Harris for M6/RTL, Together! (LREM/Renaissance, MoDem, Horizons) would collect 260 to 300 seats and the left alliance Nupes (LFI, PS, EELV, PCF) 150 to 208 seats.
