A few weeks before the first round of the legislative elections, the political parties are busy trying to win a majority. On the left, negotiations are slipping, on the right, a rapprochement with the Republic in March is now envisaged. “Let’s not be afraid to get involved,” said Guillaume Larrivé, Les Républicains (LR) deputy for Yonne, guest of Jean-Pierre Elkabbach on Sunday.

With the approach of the legislative elections, is the right still scattered like a puzzle? “I want to participate in the construction of a new majority for France”, launched Guillaume Larrivé, deputy Les Républicains (LR) of Yonne, guest of Jean-Pierre Elkabbach on Sunday. “A new majority for five more years and not simply the reproduction of the old majority of 2017 for five more years,” he continued.

Towards an LR-LREM rapprochement?

“Emmanuel Macron has called for a rally. He is the re-elected President of the Republic. I would not understand this call for a rally, if the movement, heir to the Gaullists, the Sarkozyists, does not hear it. And moreover, Nicolas Sarkozy himself, the former President of the Republic, was right to also wish for this gathering”, exclaimed the LR deputy from Yonne who positions himself as the leader of this new majority in both parties.

“Let’s not lock ourselves into an anti-Macron posture”

For Guillaume Larrivé, a union between the Republic in March and the Republicans is therefore possible and even desirable. “I am 100% committed to the success of Emmanuel Macron’s five-year term,” he said.

“Let’s not be afraid to actively engage, right now, positively, in the campaign, we are not going to stay for five years in a sterile opposition”, he slipped while adding that an anti-Macron posture has already led the Republicans party below the 5% mark in the presidential election. “A disaster”, according to the deputy of Yonne.
