Une autobiography at 25, why not? This is the age at which reality starlet Nabilla Benattia published hers. She was called Too fast (Robert Laffont, 2016), a title that would no doubt have suited Taha Bouhafs’ story. In effect, those who are nothing (La Découverte, January 2022) is a very quick read. It has 127 pages, including a quarter of long verbatim where the author lets others speak (his lawyer, a yellow vest, a cleaning lady, a worker, Assa Traoré…). So there remains, from the author himself, some 80 pages, which also seem to have been written very quickly.

The guideline is to pose as a spokesperson for those forgotten in the estates, from immigrant backgrounds, discriminated against, prey to police persecution. The problem is that too much hammer…
