On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the long-awaited LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga will finally be released on all platforms. Postponed several times, the most ambitious title in the franchise will bring together the three trilogies, more than 300 playable characters and above all a gigantic open world to explore on each planet in the galaxy. Such a project can weigh heavy in gigas and that is why the title will be available for pre-download a few days before its release.
How heavy is LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga?
You will need to free up space on the SSD of your PS5 or the meager memory of your Nintendo Switch because this ultimate LEGO Star Wars game weighs heavy. Nothing official at the moment but the reputable Twitter account of PlayStation GameSize has indicated that the title will be around 38 GB in size for download. A number in the standard of current video games but which is still consistent on certain platforms such as Nintendo’s hybrid console. Favor the physical versions if you think you don’t have enough space!
Note also that the February tweet clearly states that this is data without the famous day-one patch that most games receive and without the Character Collection Season Pass. The final weight of Skywalker Saga could well exceed the 42 GB.

When to download LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga early?
As is often done, it will be possible to preload the game a few days before its release. This obviously does not concern than the digital versions and allows them to be installed upstream, without having to wait for hours of downloading on the d-day. For the moment, no precise time has been communicated by TT Games or Warner Bros Games but it seems that you can start the download from April 3, 2022 on a few platforms. The Nintendo Switch is often excluded from this kind of practice.
Note that it seems that the preload is already available for the digital versions on Xbox One and Xbox Series.
Of course, preloading does not in any way allow you to play in advance. For that, you will have to wait until April 5, 2022, like everyone else.
