The second week of Nordahl Lelandais’ trial began on Monday morning. The hearing was interested in the aggression of the little cousin of Nordahl Lelandais. An assault that occurred a week before the disappearance of little Maëlys.
A spine-chilling video was found on Nordahl Lelandais’ phone. In this video, we see him touching his sleeping six-year-old cousin. The little girl had come with her parents to spend a few days at his house. Unbearable images for the parents of the little girl, who are Nordahl Lelandais’ own first cousins.
Unbearable viewing for the girl’s parents
Watching the video was also unbearable for Maëlys’ parents, who left the courtroom before the video was released. Nordahl Lelandai also looked away so as not to see the video. He nevertheless recognized “the cowardice” of this act.
The dog handler, however, minimized the seriousness of his actions, explaining that he had done it while the little girl was sleeping so as not to hurt her and not to frighten her. He also clarified that he would have been unable to do this on an awake child. A way of suggesting, for Lelandais, that he did not do it a week later on little Maëlys, who was awake at the time of the events.
“He always kicks in touch”
The explanations of Nordahl Lelandais did not convince the lawyer for the parents of his little cousin, master Caroline Raymond, exasperated by the attitude in the defendant’s box. “When he doesn’t know what to answer because he knows it can serve him badly, he says: ‘I don’t know, I don’t remember, I don’t know anymore’. Very clearly, he adapts his answers. It’s someone who thinks before he answers. He tends to turn questions around as well to take a little more time to think. And then finally, when he can’t find a suitable answer to serve his defense needs, he says: ‘I don’t know, I don’t remember’. He always kicks in touch”, she accused.
At the helm, Lelandais’ own cousin said: “Nordahl is not only a murderer, he is also a pedophile”. An accusation rejected by the former dog handler who continues to claim that these videos were “just sex” and did not constitute proof of his attraction to children.
