For a while it was quieter around Lena Meyer-Landrut, now the musician is back – both on social media and musically. Your new song “Strip” is very personal.

Lena Meyer-Landrut (30) has been in the spotlight for around eleven years, has fans all over the world, and almost four million people follow her on Instagram. They had to cope with quite a shock in mid-May when the Berliner-by-choice deleted all her photos without further ado. Now Lena is back with new music in her luggage. The single “Strip” shows a very personal side of the singer, she addresses a topic that is still taboo: therapy. Lena Meyer-Landrut is now campaigning against this stigma.

Lena Meyer-Landrut: “Therapy does not mean that you are crazy”

In an interview with Radio ENERGY, Lena now speaks openly about the subject, which is obviously a matter close to her heart. “I think everyone should go to therapy. You have to completely remove the taboo from that. Because therapy does not mean that you are crazy, it means that you deal with yourself,” explains the 30-year-old. Dealing with yourself is “mega hard”, but incredibly important, emphasizes Lena. It means pain, after all, you move out of your comfort zone. But that’s exactly what ultimately brings you further. Lena speaks from her own experience: “What I have learned is always the easiest and I often find myself not really challenging myself and that’s okay too. But now and then to question things or yourself is believing I am very clever and somehow also quite nice to invest a little bit of your time and energy in it. “

Soul “strip” tease in the new song

In “Strip”, Lena shows her vulnerable side. She sings about wanting to be more relaxed and not waste valuable time doing something that is not good for her. She no longer wants to compare herself with others, but rather simply to do what she feels like doing. “Oh, I’m sorry that I’m not sorry. I am just who I am,” is a very telling line in her song. Did Lena learn this attitude in therapy? She doesn’t say anything about that, but such an attitude would probably do everyone good.
