Lenny Kravitz looks back on his past and reveals how he met Mariah Carey decades ago.
Lenny Kravitz (59) and Mariah Carey (54) have a long friendship. The two stars apparently knew each other before they became famous. Kravitz revealed to People magazine how he met the singer.
Common path to a successful career
“We were in the same group of friends,” the singer revealed: “She worked in a sports bar where I often hung out.” The two also worked on their music demos at the same time. This made them very close: “I remember she played her cassettes and I showed her mine.” This is how a good friendship developed. “We often met at Mariah’s house; she had a lot of cats,” the 59-year-old chatted.
The two attended the Recording Academy Honors at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on February 1st. Both stars received awards presented by the Black Music Collective that evening. The singer would think it was very “cool” that they both made it and can take part in the same event.
Last year, Kravitz was seen in the film “Shotgun Wedding – A Tough Team,” among other things. There is also a big event coming up for him this year: On March 22nd, the rock star will release his new album entitled “Blue Electric Light”.
