CES

At CES 2024, Lenovo is showing, among other things, a new version of the innovative Yoga Book 9i with two screens. If you like something down-to-earth, you can also get a conventional notebook from the Yoga brand.

  • Lenovo is presenting innovations for the Yoga Book 9i and the Yoga Slim 7i at CES 2024, among other things.
  • The latest version of the book-sized notebook has a soundbar.
  • Both devices should be available from April 2024.

How can you take the unusual form factor of the Yoga Book 9i even further? Lenovo probably asked itself this question and tweaked the configuration of the notebook with two screens. The manufacturer will present the result at CES 2024.

With the Yoga brand, Lenovo not only offers 2-in-1 notebooks, high-end models with dedicated graphics cards and the Yoga Book 9i. There is also a more down-to-earth device compared to its sister models, which, according to a press release, will also be presented at the technology trade fair.

Yoga Book 9i: More sound and software

Before we get to the hardware and display, let’s take a look at what software Lenovo is equipping the new version of its book-sized notebook with. The manufacturer not only releases a virtual keyboard with different skins, but also a smart launcher that shows you frequently used apps. Artificial intelligence should also help beautify handwriting.

Let’s look at the screens. Lenovo announces that the notebook can now be equipped with a PureSight OLED screen with 2.8K resolution. These are 13.3-inch touchscreens that have a brightness of 400 nits and cover 100 percent of the DCI-P3.

There is an Intel processor inside. In its maximum configuration, the Yoga Book 9i runs on the 14th generation Intel Core I7-U. The internal graphics card Intel Iris Xe acts as the graphics unit. Lenovo installs up to 32 gigabytes of RAM and a PCIe SSD Gen 4 with a maximum of one terabyte of storage. The battery capacity is 80 watt hours.

There is a full HD webcam with infrared that you can physically cover if necessary. In addition to Bluetooth version 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6E, you can also physically connect devices. There are a total of three USB-C ports available to you. A soundbar from Bowers & Wilkins is responsible for the sound, which, according to Lenovo, should contribute to the wow factor.

Yoga Slim 7i: Conventional notebook with OLED

The name of the Yoga Slim 7i already suggests that this device is a thin notebook. The dimensions 312 millimeters x 221 millimeters x 14.9 millimeters are noted in the data sheet. This means that the notebook is still a little larger than the Yoga Book 9i, but the Yoga Slim 7i also has to accommodate a keyboard and a full HDMI port.

The OLED display will be available in Germany in 14 inches and will show you content with 100 percent P3 and Dolby Vision at a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200, 60 Hertz refresh rate and a brightness of 400 nits.

An Intel processor also provides performance here. The best configuration is an Intel Core ULT7 155H, which is supported by an Intel Arc graphics card. There is a maximum of 32 gigabytes of RAM and Lenovo installs a maximum of one PCIe Gen 4 M.2 SSD with one terabyte of memory for your data. The battery has a capacity of 65 watt hours.

Prices and availability

The new Yoga Book 9i is expected to go on sale in April 2024 and will cost at least 2,499 euros. The color used is “Tidal Teal”. You have to pay a little less for the Yoga Slim 7i in “Luna Grey”. It will probably also be available in April, but will only cost 1,099 euros.
