At CES 2022, Lenovo unveiled a new version of the Smart Clock Essential with now Amazon Alexa integrated. And this connected alarm clock is also enriched with accessories to be more versatile.

Lenovo is keeping its footing on the connected home and relies heavily on its Smart Clock Essential, a connected alarm clock capable of displaying multiple information on its large LED screen (time, weather forecast, radio, alarm, timer, reminder, etc.). And the Chinese brand presented, during the CES show in Las Vegas which is being held this week, a new version that is closer to the design of the Smart Clock 2 than to the first version of the Smart Clock Essential.
The Smart Clock Essential with built-in Alexa lives up to its name. He now relies on the support of Amazon’s voice assistant to be more versatile. This will allow it to be used with voice commands to control the house and connected objects compatible with Alexa (lights, lock, sensors, sockets, etc.).

Obviously, if you have purchases to make on Amazon, music to start, or information to know, the voice assistant is there to support you and answer your requests. A button is provided to mute the microphone if you do not want to be bothered. But you can also connect several units together via Wi-Fi to act as an intercom in the house.
Voice commands and light
The Lenovo Smart Clock 2 had the good idea to take advantage of an optional docking station capable of powering it wirelessly while charging another wireless device such as a smartphone placed next to it, with a white night light available to complement it. the whole thing. This year, Lenovo introduced the Ambient Light Dock, a light base on which to place the Smart Clock 2 or Essential with Alexa.
This transforms the latter into a multicolored night light with eight lighting modes to choose from to diffuse an ambient light like sunset or increasing intensity to wake up, relaxation mode with color variations, etc. Alexa can help you choose by asking her by voice or through the app.
Two forms of base are available, inspired by an octopus or a sea lion.

Otherwise, the Smart Clock Essential works as usual with a tap on the top to deactivate or snooze the alarm. It arrives this year in two new colors, Misty Blue (blue fabric) and Clay Red (brick red fabrics). A USB port on the back allows you to charge another device.
Prices and availability
The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with Alexa will be available in March 2022 at 69.99 euros on the Lenovo site and from partner resellers.
The Ambient Light Dock is announced at 29.99 euros and will go on sale in April 2022.
