Lenovo has just announced new laptops to its ThinkPad line for professionals. And of course the use of AI in the office is on the agenda.
The new Lenovo ThinkPad L Series and ThinkPad X13 feature powerful AI processing via an Intel Core Ultra or AMD Ryzen Pro 7030 chip, both optimized for AI workflows.
Intel Core Ultra processors use a neural processing unit (NPU) to locally run Windows 11’s new AI features such as Copilot, or even better performance on video conferencing.
13, 14 and 16 inches
As more business users turn to AI to help them with tasks like transcribing meetings and writing summary emails, Lenovo’s new ThinkPads pack the infrastructure power needed to that.
The new models come in multiple sizes, with 13- and 14-inch screens, as well as new 16-inch screens and 2-in-1 form factors.
For business users, these laptops feature 64GB of memory and can be equipped with a 2TB SSD hard drive. Both laptops are also optionally equipped with a 5Mpixel high-resolution webcam with infrared sensors and physical shutters to close the lens.

Security-wise, these laptops feature lock slots to physically secure the computer, as well as built-in fingerprint sensors and infrared sensors.
As for connectivity, some models will support Wi-Fi 7 and 5G, allowing for customization and upgrades to connectivity options.
In terms of energy consumption, the new Optical Film technology uses DBEF5 to provide a brighter display thanks to the screen backlighting, without using the battery.
When the laptops go on sale in the second quarter of this year, the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 AMD is expected to start at €1,000, while the Intel-powered ThinkPad L14 will cost €1,200. The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 5 and X13 2-in-1 Gen 5 are expected to start at €1250 and €1400 respectively.
