On the outside, Leona Lewis’ life looks perfect. The British singer now admits in an interview with “The Sun” that it is not. In fact, she even had to go through therapy to cope with her new role as a mother.

Leona Lewis, 38, is beautiful, successful, happily married since 2019 and a proud mom since summer 2022. With little Carmel, a dream came true for the British singer and her husband Dennis Jauch. But the dream quickly showed its dark side. Because as Leona now reveals in an interview with “The Sun”, she had a difficult time after giving birth.

Leona Lewis struggled

A look at Leona Lewis’ Instagram account suggests that her daughter Carmel makes her more than happy. Whether together with husband Dennis or dressed up sweetly – the little one is simply a cute bundle of joy. And as happy as the 38-year-old is to have had a child, it has challenged her so much. Because the Briton had problems identifying with her new role. The singer admits that she had really reached her limits: “I was so exhausted, so tired. And then I had these anxious thoughts that kept me awake, so that I was never able to rest.” A combination that really upset the new mother. But Leona didn’t just want to accept it and get through it, rather she sought professional help.

Through therapy for more well-being

With the help of a therapist, she has learned to find her way more into her role and to enjoy being a mother. “It’s so important when you can talk to someone about it,” she says. She also makes no secret of the fact that being a mother can be challenging to her followers. Speaking to Vogue Arabia, in which she revealed her daughter’s face for the first time, she said: “It’s a new chapter. It’s exciting, it’s daunting, it’s all of that. But most of all, I think that’s about it going to spread more love.”
