Leroy Merlin continues to bet on connected lighting to promote the adoption of its Enki solutions, even if it can also count on its surveillance cameras since the end of last year. After launching a whole range of compatible bulbs under its Lexman brand last year, the DIY and home improvement specialist is now launching a range of lights under its Inspire brand. This includes ceiling lights, spotlights and a projector, all connected. To be precise, Bluetooth and Zigbee connections are provided. The first works with a smartphone and the Enki Connect application for local control, while the second allows connection to Enki and Enki Connect boxes for remote and voice control as well as the creation of scenarios.
Thanks to Zigbee, it should also be possible to connect Inspire luminaires to a Philips Hue bridge, which could be interesting for those who have already started investing at Philips and are now looking for slightly more affordable equipment to complete the installation. . Because, let’s face it, the price is undoubtedly the main asset of Leroy Merlin luminaires.
Connected lighting for the whole house without breaking the bank
The Led Inspire panels are currently three in number. All carry the Gdansk reference and seem to offer the same functionalities, namely to produce white or colored light. The power, on the other hand, varies between 13 and 42 watts, for 1800 to 5400 lumens, depending on the size. Three formats are planned: 29.5 x 29.5 cm, 59.5 x 59.5 cm and 119.5 x 29.5 cm for a thickness of 3.1 cm.
In addition to these panels, there are two types of recessed spotlights: one with a replaceable — and adjustable — GU10 bulb, the other with integrated lighting in the form of a circular panel from 8.5 to 22.5 cm in diameter, for 3, 2cm thick. These latest models, called Extraflat, will therefore have to be replaced in the event of a breakdown, but this construction allows them to display an IP44 protection index. They are therefore partially waterproof and suitable for wet rooms. All spotlights, on the other hand, are capable of producing white or colored light, but Extraflat spotlights also offer more flexibility in terms of power. The large models promise up to 3100 lumens, against 460 lumens for classic spots (Bama). However, these can be purchased in sets of three. Two colors are also planned: white and black.
Finally, Leroy Merlin is also launching an outdoor projector. With a power of 21 W, it promises a brightness of 2200 to 3000 lumens to light up terraces and paths or create colorful atmospheres. It is indeed capable of producing white or colored light, like the other Inspire luminaires. All are already available for sale, and displayed between €19.90 and €140. Leroy Merlin is also launching a wall button at €19.90 to control its connected lamps without a smartphone, with its Lexman brand this time. It is of course possible to associate it with Inspire luminaires, with Zigbee and Enki. Remember also that the Enki box is sold at a price of €119 in its most complete version, while the Connect version dedicated to lighting is displayed at €29.90.
