She is herself on stage: in the new episode GLOSSIP, the GALA Beauty Podcast, singer Leslie Clio tells editor Lara Golombek how she chooses her outfits for a tour and which beauty tools she doesn’t want to be without there.

Leslie Clio, 35, has expressed herself through music from an early age. Between soul, post-punk and trip-hop, she has found her own genre, soul-pop. Her breakthrough came in 2013 with her singles “Told You So” and “I Couldn’t Care Less” after touring with artists like Bosse and Marlon Roudette as the opening act. Then her comeback at the beginning of the year: The Hamburg native released her album “Brave New Woman” in February, with which she wants to plead for more women’s solidarity.

Episode 2: Leslie Clio: In her looks, she relies on shapes and contours

We know her with her signature eyeliner and a casual bun: Leslie Clio’s style is unintentionally casual, she describes it as conservative. The 35-year-old convinces anyway with her pop music, behind which she now reveals her secret: Leslie relies on her restful sleep. She doesn’t force herself into the studio without getting enough sleep. How many hours of sleep does she really need and what tricks help her to sleep soundly?

Creative ideas don’t come up when you’re stressed.

The ‘I Couldn’t Care Less’ hitmaker avoids forcing things. This also applies to her looks: the power woman may not be keen on experimenting, but she follows her impulses. The pop singer particularly likes glitter and solid materials. Does she get inspiration from a great icon? In the new GLOSSIP episode, Leslie tells us about her style role model and whether she gets help from a stylist.

Episode 1: Leslie Clio: How she breaks through in a male-dominated music industry

Never let yourself be defeated and prefer to go the honest way instead of the simplest way: Statements that the soul pop singer addresses to all women with her new album “Brave New Woman”. She herself was a lone wolf – at the age of 17 she lived in her first apartment of her own and had to build her own image of a strong woman. But what hurdles did she have to overcome on her career ladder and which female idols helped her?

The longer you live, the stronger you become.

Today, the 35-year-old has a clear mindset: women should push each other and stay true to themselves. This is the only way that more women can assert themselves in the music business and reveal their talent. Leslie is one of those who made it and is now taking another step in the right direction: With her own label “House Of Clio” she wants to empower women. In the new GLOSSIP episode, she reveals exactly how she manages to do this and which women still inspire the songwriter today.
