Auma Obama recently lost her grandmother and mother. Nevertheless, she continues to dance with “Let’s Dance”. You do not want to “give up”.

Auma Obama (61) continues: Although the sociologist has just had to deal with two severe blows of fate, she will be in the “Let’s Dance” show on Friday (also at TVNow). Her mother died a few days ago – shortly before she had already lost her grandmother. Obama now told RTLthat she is emotionally “totally confused”, but still doesn’t want to skip a show: “I don’t want to give up, I want to go on.”

Her motto: Encourage others

She also wants to be a role model for the children and young people who are looked after by her “Sauti Kuu” foundation. Obama had to decide whether to hide and feel sorry for herself or whether to show people that life goes on. “And when they see that I can continue in such a difficult situation, then they also get courage,” said the 61-year-old.

Accordingly, Obama and her “Let’s Dance” dance partner Andrzej Cibis (33) will sweep the floor as planned with a Charleston to “Bang Bang” by Will.i.am on Friday. Not least because dancing also helps her: “It gives me joy and I have to laugh when I dance.”
