Some people find it entertaining, for others it’s disrespectful behavior: When Joachim Llambi, 59, gives his verdict on “Let’s Dance”, he doesn’t mince his words. In this year’s season, his sayings particularly affected entrepreneur Tillman Schulz, 34. His counter-reactions caused a heated debate. How should participants and dancers deal with Joachim Llambi? “Let’s Dance” professional Christian Polanc, 45, commented on this on Instagram.

“Let’s Dance” juror Joachim Llambi distributes harsh criticism of Tillman Schulz

Polanc spoke in a live stream shortly after viewers saw the discussion between Joachim Llambi and Tillman Schulz on TV. After the juror described the rumba performed as “Stehrumba,” he added: “Basically, we could have dismantled half of the studio here. […] If you don’t give your partner stability, then the poor girl doesn’t know where to go.” The amateur dancer countered directly, pointing out to Llambi that his dance partner was not a girl, but a woman.

The “Let’s Dance” juror was not deterred and only awarded one point for the performance. Schulz appeared unimpressed and teased: “I didn’t expect anything else from Mr. Llambi. He’s familiar with the low points at MSV Duisburg. That’s why it’s all good for me.” For Christian Polanc, who is missing from this year’s season, this is misconduct.

“Let’s Dance” star Christian Polanc: “It’s really difficult”

In the eyes of the long-time show member, a direct confrontation in front of the cameras is unreasonable. “I know how you feel there. It’s really difficult. I just think sometimes it’s better to keep your mouth shut when you’re standing in front of it,” said Polanc on Instagram. Out of respect for her dance partner, Polanc would have preferred a discussion behind the scenes.

The professional dancer speaks out again in his podcast “Let’s talk about Dance” and defends Tillman’s performance there. “It wasn’t a single point, I didn’t see that. He was in time, you have to give him that,” explains the dancing star. Did the frosty relationship between Joachim Llambi and Tillman Schulz influence the juror’s judgment? Since the beginning of the show, there has been speculation that the entrepreneur and Llambi are unsympathetic to each other.

Dispute between Llambi and Schulz behind the scenes?

Polanc does not completely rule out the possibility that Llambi entered the show with bias. “From what I heard in the background, I don’t even know if that was it [Tillmann Schulz, Anmerkung der Redaktion] didn’t make any effort,” said the 45-year-old. But the feeling arose that Schulz wasn’t 100 percent there. Polanc’s podcast partner Pascal Hens, 43, is a no-go for a performance show like “Let’s Dance.” “None “I have no idea what’s going on between Llambi and him, but it was very, very difficult from the start,” said Hens.

What is certain is that the dispute between Llambi and Schulz has come to an abrupt end. The “The Lion’s Den” investor had to leave the show after his rumba.
