Sophia Thiel: “Then I punched my dance partner”

Before the first live broadcast of “Let’s Dance” on Friday, February 23, 2024, the stars have to undergo tough training – in which everything doesn’t always go according to plan. Fitness influencer Sophia Thiel can also confirm this. She reports on her dance rehearsals in her Instagram story. There was a small incident when things weren’t going quite well for her. She suddenly blocked “because I messed up a difficult movement two or three times. I instinctively made a mistake because I got nervous and everything happened so quickly. And then I punched my dance partner.” Apparently nothing serious happened to their still unknown counterpart and they were able to finish the training. After Patricija Ionel injured her tailbone in a fall, this is now the second small accident in the new season of “Let’s Dance”, which hasn’t really started yet. Hopefully things will be less turbulent from now on.

Finally, Thiel has some good news. Your opening show team dance has been announced. She will dance the Charleston together with Tony Bauer and Maria Clara Groppler. They are supported by the professionals Valentin Lusin, Anastasia Stan and Paul Lorenz.

The 17th season of the popular dance show “Let’s Dance” begins on February 23, 2024 – and of course Jorge González, 56, Motsi Mabuse, 42, and Joachim Llambi, 59, will once again take their place behind the jury desk together. The show is hardly imaginable without the popular trio – one reason why the contracts of the three jurors have now been extended for several years. “Last year we extended the current contract early for several years,” revealed Jorge González in an interview with the German Press Agency and emphasized: “For me, such a step is a real sign of trust from RTL in the three of us.”

Joachim Llambi is also happy with the station’s decision. “We are all very pleased that RTL continues to rely on us on the jury for ‘Let’s Dance’! This trust makes us very proud and shows that this jury, which is the longest-serving jury on a television show in the world, has done a lot of things right and would like to give our viewers many more wonderful hours for the next few years. A big thank you to the entire team at @letsdance, without you we wouldn’t be what we are,” he writes on Instagram.

Patricija Ionel was injured shortly before the “Let’s Dance” introductory show

The introductory show for the 17th season of “Let’s Dance” will take place on Friday, February 23, 2024. Also taking part this year is professional dancer Patricija Ionel, 29 – actually. Shortly before the big show, the athlete fell during training. “I injured my tailbone,” she admits to “Bild”. However, the mother of one son quickly found help from the Hamburg physiotherapist Julian Möller-Elbin, 36. “In addition to a blockage, I also released Patricija’s tension from her body. Now she can go back to the dance floor to Let’s Dance, pain-free and full of enthusiasm!”, says Julian in an interview with the publication and gives the all-clear for all worried dance fans.
